Sisters

Lilyana has really been attentive to Adelyn the past few weeks. The other day when she woke up from her nap and came out into the living room Adelyn was asleep in the boppy pillow and Lily went right over to her and sat down beside her and just watched her while she slept. She even laid her head down on the pillow next to her. It was the sweetest thing! Just recently she started telling me "Mommy, I like her". She lines up all her toys in front of Adelyn while she is laying on the floor and asks her if she wants each one and which one is her favorite. Whenever we are driving in the car we know exactly when Adelyn wakes up because Lily will very sweetly say "Hi Adelyn". I am so excited for Adelyn to be able to interact with Lily more. I know Lily will just love having a little sister! Another cute thing Lily does is when we are all riding in the car she will ask me and Joel what we are doing, and then she'll say "oh, I'm riding in the back with Adelyn". I love it! Well, the other pictures posted are from Deanna Rose where Lily loves feeding the baby goats, and a couple or Adelyn.

Renee's good friend Carmen made this beautiful quilt for Adelyn! Both girls really love it a lot! Lily's favorite color is orange, and Adelyn really enjoys her tummy time on the quilt looking at all the beautiful colors! Thank you so much Carmen!

Baking together

One of Lilyana's favorite things to do is to help me cook and bake. It is so fun having a little helper, even though it means more of a mess for me to clean up and a longer prep time. These pictures are of us baking chocolate chip cookies the other night. She likes practicing dumping flour from one bowl to the next, so I usually set her up with 2 or 3 bowls, a measuring cup and measuring spoon so she can have fun. I love having her in the kitchen with me keeping me company.

sweet Adelyn

Summer Fun!

Last Friday night we all went with Jeff, Tara, and Lexi to a grand opening celebration of a new shopping center in Lees Summit. They had free balloon animals, face painting, and train rides! Lily and Lexi had so much fun! Lily wanted to have a Lightning McQueen balloon, and Lexi had a butterfly hat! I posted some pics of our fun time together. The other pictures are of the dead tree that Joel had to dig out from the front of our house. The roots were a little big bigger than he expected! The pictures of Adelyn are her modeling her cute new outfit from Aunt Jaime, and a shot of her in her headband.

Adelyn Eden is 1 month old!

Time flies when you're having fun! I can't believe our little Adelyn is already one month old. She is definitely growing like a little flower too. We went to the doctor for a check-up and she is now weighing in at a healthy 10 lbs 12 oz (97th percentile) and stretches 22 in long (75th percentile). Dr. Kawase said she looks great and very healthy. Her size 1 diapers are getting a little snug already around her adorable chunky thighs.
She is such a happy baby. Adelyn smiles and laughs and "talks" a lot, especially when her big sister is nearby. Lilyana really has adjusted well and taken to Adelyn great. She talks to her and brings her toys, and first thing in the morning, if Adelyn isn't up yet (which is rare) Lily goes running into our room to peek into the pack in play and get her. She'll say "You want to get up baby?" even if she's sleeping! The sweetest thing that she does is when we're in the car and if Adelyn starts fussing she'll say "It's ok, Adelyn, we're almost there". Lily's latest favorite thing to do with her is rub Adelyn's head and play with her hair. She'll tell me "I love her hair, I'm just petting her hair." It's so funny. I love having two little ones around and watching them interact together. I know it will be even more fun as Adelyn gets bigger. I'm so glad they will be such close sisters.
