Last Saturday we all went on a little hayride and to the pumpkin patch to pick out our family pumpkin to carve! Lily had so much fun walking around looking at all the pumpkins and helping daddy pick out the perfect one. She really loved helping pull out all the seeds and gook when we started carving it. After we got it all cleaned out she started putting all the gook back inside! She thought it was game! It was so funny. Our first family pumpkin carving tradition was a huge success! We will definitely do it again next year. You can see some pictures from our adventure below.

Fall Fun!
yesterday was such a beautiful fall day! Joel had his wisdom teeth taken out yesterday morning, but he was such a great sport! he came home and slept from about 10-3, and then we took Lily outside to play. she really wanted to learn how to ride a tricycle...so joel attempted to teach her, but her feet couldn't reach the pedals. she quickly discovered that she could reach the ground on her tiptoes, so she proceeded to "walk" the trike to get it to move. it was so funny! i will post some video above. we also went on a walk to the park and Lily enjoyed swinging with her daddy. it was a little chilly so I was so excited to put Lily in her new puffer vest that I got her with her little purple underarmour shirt. I love picking out clothes for her! This morning Lily and I ventured out to the farmer's market while Joel was at work and got lots of yummy fruits and veggies. I just made baked apples and butternut squash and the house smells like a fall harvest! I love it!

I love my niece and nephews!!!!
Last night I babysat Lexi, Austin, and Carson while Jeff and Tara went out to dinner. We always try to do fun projects...last night we decided to make cupcakes, but the best part was that we made 4 different color icings! One color for each kid. I whipped up some homemade vanilla frosting and then we added food coloring to make pink for Lexi, purple for Lilyana (even though she was sleeping and didn't eat any), blue for Austin, and green for Carson. We even had some pretty sprinkles to decorate them. I think Lexi had the most fun helping me. She wanted to taste each color! She was so cute and so excited to show the boys the frosting we made them. We had fun and they tasted great! I love babysitting my niece and nephews, and Lily loves it too. She gets so excited when they come running up to the door. Here are some fun pictures from last night

Breath of Fresh Air
Last Weekend it was so nice to get a fresh breath of fall air down in Oklahoma at the Forsberg family farm! We all had so much fun, even though the trip was quick. Lilyana had the absolute best time! She got to go fishing with daddy, she went on a hayride, played with donkeys, miniature ponies, bunnies, baby chicks, chickens, and ducks, oh ya and we can't forget Beanie! Lilyana also met her Great Grandma Forsberg and Great Grandpa Art for the first time! We went to a bonfire/bbq at my parent's neighbors house down the street where we roasted hotdogs and smores, and Lily got to take home her own little halloween pumpkin bucket (filled with candy of course that she gave to her mommy!) We had fun sharing meals together, playing cards, and exploring the countryside. We had so much fun and cannot wait to go back for Christmas! We had fun watching Uncle Brian construct a new home for his little baby oiny hens in the backyard. Sorry there were not more pictures...our memory card was full! We definitely need to invest in a bigger one. Stay tuned b/c there will be some videos posted soon!

change of seasons
We are so excited for fall around here! I can't wait for the leaves to start changing and for the weather to get cooler. I love the change of seasons because it reminds me of the change of seasons in life that we all go through. It also reminds me of the Lord's perfect plan and purpose (whoa I just used some alliteration in there haha) for our lives. Though our family is in a crazy and quite exhausting (at times) season, I have complete trust that the Lord will see us through! He has been our stronghold and place of refuge the past year. Joel has one more year of his master's! It seems so far away, but we know it will come if we fall on the Lord one day at a time. He has given us so much to be thankful for. Here are some pictures from our trip to the Louisburg Cider Mill last weekend where Lily got to see pumpkins, listen to music, and taste cider doughnuts!
